Indiana Masonic Home Festival 9/9

The 65th annual Indiana Masonic Home Festival will be on September 9th, 2012.

Since 1947, the Indiana Masonic Home has held an annual Festival inviting and encouraging members of the Masonic and Eastern Star Family and their families to visit the Indiana Masonic Home Campus and the residents. The event is held in the late summer currently in September.

Early on, the Indiana Masonic Home Festival was known as the Indiana Masonic Home Pilgrimage. It was a ‘Homecoming’ of sorts. In recent years, the name was changed to the Indiana Masonic Home Festival. The event, in additional to wonderful festival activities, food, games, and parades, serves as an ‘open house’ to see the campus and tour the IMH buildings, cottages, duplexes and apartments. There are Craft Booths, Fraternal displays, a Food Court and Musical Entertainment. The day caps-off with the annual parade around the circle. Local units and many Shrine Units are in the parade.

During the Festival Weekend, on Saturday, the Indiana Masonic Home Open Golf Outing is held at a local golf course. This event is a fundraiser for the Masonic Home to benefit the Transportation Department and other programs for our Residents. Both events are open to the public and the community.

  1. I believe the date for your event should read Sept 9, 2012 (not 2013) I would also love to add this car show to my website Car Show Country or www.CarShowCountry.com

  2. Sorry, the date was my typo. I have nothing to do with the PR for the festival apart from being an Indiana Mason.

    Just as an addendum:

Since 1947, the Indiana Masonic Home has held an annual Festival inviting and encouraging members of the Masonic and Eastern Star fraternity and their families to visit the Indiana Masonic Home Campus and residents. The event is held in the late summer, this year September 9th. Early on, the Indiana Masonic Home Festival was known as the Indiana Masonic Home Pilgrimage. It was a ‘Homecoming’ of sorts. In recent years, the name was changed to the Indiana Masonic Home Festival.

There are Craft Booths, Fraternal displays, a Food Court and Musical Entertainment. The day caps-off with the annual Parade around our circle. Local units, as well as, many Shrine Units are in the parade. The Parade is the highlight and delight to young and old alike.

This year, Dave “The King” Wilson a local radio personality will be the Master of Ceremonies. Jared Blake, a finalist on the TV show “The Voice”, will be our musical entertainment. A vocal talent contest will be held Saturday, September 8th (entry form must be submitted). The finalists will perform on the main stage and Jared will present the prizes. Various Masonic appendant bodies and youth groups will participate in patriotic and inspirational displays.

We will have a special “Kid Zone” area with a small stage for the “Silly Safari” show along with a bungee run, dunk tank (dunk the executive director), large inflatables and bouncers. The US Army & Air Force will have a rock climbing wall and, of course, the Blackhawk Helicopter will land on the circle at 10:00 AM.

An exciting new addition this year will be a 200’ long Zip Line run on the circle.

The event, in addition to wonderful festival activities, food, games, and parades, serves as an ‘open house’ to see our Campus and tour our buildings, cottages, duplexes and apartments. The event is open to the public so many non-members of the fraternity get the opportunity to get a taste of Freemasonry, so as you visit, don’t forget to “Ask One to Be One”.

During the Festival Weekend, on Saturday, the Indiana Masonic Home Open Golf Outing is held at Hillview Country Club in Franklin. This event is a fundraiser for the Masonic Home to benefit various programs for our Residents. Players, Sponsors, and lodge teams are all needed. Contact Brian Lane or Tim McCurdy for more information or to sponsor a team/hole.

Both events are open to the public and the community. Call us at (317) 736-6141 or 1-888-IMH-6077 for additional details about the upcoming Indiana Masonic Home Festival.
