German Masonic Home of Tappan, New York

The ScoutingNY.com website tours the abandoned German Masonic Home of Tappan, New York. Built between 1906 and 1909, and abandoned since the 1990s, it was once a beautiful place. Be sure to check out the stained glass in the lodge room.

  1. This past September, the National Geographic Channel reality show "Abandoned" visited this place to salvage a few items. Unfortunately, not much there, and the building shows very little of its former beauty. You can see the official page for the episode, including a short video clip, here:

    We are loosing more and more of our treasures each year. I truly hope the "Detroit Masonic" can be saved before it is too late.
