Your comments will not appear immediately because I am forced to laboriously screen every post. I'm constantly bombarded with spam. Depending on the comments being made, anonymous postings on Masonic topics may be regarded with the same status as cowans and eavesdroppers, as far as I am concerned. If you post with an unknown or anonymous account, do not automatically expect to see your comment appear.
This is what I like about your website. You don't post hearsay or rumors, you post the actual letters and documents.
ReplyDeleteAs for virtual annual communications, why not? New York is only 54,000 square miles. New Mexico is more than twice the size of that, and we did paper ballots and Zoom meetings for the annual communication in 2020, and I expect the same to happen in 2021. Surely if a Grand Lodge in a much larger and much poorer state can get it done, why can't New York with its greater resources?
I encourage Brothers to check with their doctors about whether or not the Covid Vaccine may be something to consider.
ReplyDeleteWhat I have been hearing from some of my military related colleagues is a possible return to some semblance of normalcy in the fall (late August through October) of 2021. I think this is also when Canada may consider reopening the border (on a limited and/or restricted basis) to the general American public.
Also, keep in mind it is possible some air travel may require proof of vaccination in the near future depending on type. For example, business, official, or pleasure. Stay safe, everyone!
Brother Michael, you are so very right...indeed why not -- the erstwhile grand master's feeble reply is a pathetic effort at retaining office. Technical obstacles indeed. Ego obstacles rather. Better to buy the Exalted Grand a kitchen apron at Macy's. He has shamed New York.
ReplyDeleteLast year plenty of commencements and religious services and large important board meetings far more complicated than a regular lodge change were successfully held virtually. Some organizations have had virtual meetings for the last five years.
A google for a year ago on holding virtual meetings produces 81,000,000 hits. https://www.uua.org/ga/off-site/2020 A complex five day meeting with nearly 5000 delegates from more than 1000 churches and 250,000,000 in trusteeship went without a hitch last year. https://www.uua.org/ga/off-site
