The ScoutingNY.com website tours the abandoned German Masonic Home of Tappan, New York. Built between 1906 and 1909, and abandoned since the 1990s, it was once a beautiful place. Be sure to check out the stained glass in the lodge room.

This past September, the National Geographic Channel reality show "Abandoned" visited this place to salvage a few items. Unfortunately, not much there, and the building shows very little of its former beauty. You can see the official page for the episode, including a short video clip, here:

We are loosing more and more of our treasures each year. I truly hope the "Detroit Masonic" can be saved before it is too late.
