GL of Indiana To Re-Dedicate Washington Statue 8/4
Here's one for my home team.
M:.W:. Grand Master Gregory C. Walbridge and the Grand Lodge of Indiana F&AM will re-dedicate the Masonic statue of George Washington at the Indiana State Capital Building, Indianapolis, IN on Thursday, August 4th 2011. Tentatively, plans are to assemble in the Scottish-Rite Parking Lot at 10:00AM and form a processional to the Statehouse.
The GM has has asked for participation by uniformed Knights Templar in the procession.
The statue is a bronze casting of a sculpture by Donald De Lue (1897-1988) originally made for the Grand Lodge of Louisiana. It depicts Washington in his Masonic apron and wearing a Past Master's jewel. It was presented to the people of Indiana on May 19th, 1987.
