TAP — TAP-TAP — TAP — TAP
Remember that scene in "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" when Judge Doom is trying to find Roger? He's tapping his cane against the wall in a familiar rhythm. "No 'Toon can resist the old "Shave And A Hair-Cut," he says with a sinister sneer.
TAP — TAP-TAP — TAP — TAP
"Shave-And-A-Hair-Cut..."
Well, we're having our chimneys rebuilt this week, and a new roof full of shingles put on our house. The entire population of Juarez, Mexico, apparently on summer vacation here in Indianapolis, is scrambling over my roof, beating, pounding, slamming and air-nailing. The dog thinks someone is knocking on the door every 20 seconds, and roars out, barking his head off. And after a while, the air nailer takes on a certain rhythm.
TAP — TAP-TAP — TAP — TAP
I can't stand it.
"Shave-And-A-Hair-Cut..."
I'm gonna scream.
TAP — TAP-TAP — TAP — TAP...
"...TWO BITS!"
