Elevator would have been a money sump eventually, but it HAS been another 25 years.Christopher Hodapphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04201859873755654395noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25683662.post-85194413470738463902019-05-28T15:49:44.832-04:002019-05-28T15:49:44.832-04:00Actually the present lodge building in the picture...Actually the present lodge building in the pictures is neat, landscaped, and not at all as bad as alas so many. Unquestionably access for the physically challenged was a big hurtle for some of the Masonic buildings that have gone under. In Washington many societies are faced by huge bills for reworking washrooms, providing ramps, widening doorways, providing fire exits.. Still, in instances there have been solutions that would have saved the buildings, but as with so much about Masonry today, the leadership has been mediocre, unimaginative, and unaware of the possibilities. The money goes for triumphant arches as at Valley Forge <br />(reminiscent of Hollywood productions like Cleopatra or for the current video campaign about making better men (more likely to promote shaving cream), neither likely to help our situation. We are not going to be saved by painting little league dugouts but by realizing that we are a part of the Enlightenment, philosophical and metaphoric and hence highly dependent on our unique use of ritual. Fat chance anyone understanding that.Bro.
