Our associated groups are leaving our ship,as this Jobs Daughter dialogue illustrates:

[–]jason_mitchellUT
[severing ties] to the point when Jobies can make a full transition out
Something desperately needed. Masonry is probably the largest drag on the youth groups, especially the Jobies.

[–]jigillian[S] 1
Why do you think Masons are a drag on the youth groups (particularly Jobies)?

[–]jason_mitchellUT

...First, the approach is dated. By constraining Youth Groups to the Masonic family we perpetuate isolationism. We do this because we see the benefit for us, but never question the benefit of it for the Youth. In short, we maintain the youth groups according to our vision of what is best, not what they need.

Second, we've politicized the youth groups. We use youth group leadership positions for advancing our interests, and not those of the youth.

Third, we've weaponized the youth groups. By turning them into vehicles of power, we use them as leverage against others in acquisition of resources ("won't someone think of the children").

As for the Jobies in particular, I'd really like someone to explain to me how dressing them as vestal virgins, ritualistically binding them in cords, and causing them to submit to us improves them as women, citizens, and leaders.

As others have said, the girls scouts have a better and more modern program - and they have cookies.
Bro. If we have such presentations, say once a month for 8 or 9 months of the year (15 to 20 minutes each), it will create a reason for some members to come and learn about the craft.GeorgeOfTampahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11748462279356837403noreply@blogger.com
