I'll be speaking Saturday February 21st at the Scottish Rite Valley of Chicago's reunion, located at the Shriner's Hospital for Children, 2211 N. Oak Park Avenue.

Degree work will begin at 10AM, and will include:
4° - Master Traveler
14° - Grand Elect Mason
16° - Prince of Jerusalem
18° - Knight of Rose Croix
32° - Sublime Prince of the Royal Secret

I'll be speaking at dinner, which will begin at 5:30PM.

For more information, see the Valley's event schedule. Looking forward to meeting Chicagoland brethren!

  1. I had a front row seat and I can say empirically that Chris's speech was excellent. Lots of nodding heads and even a thumbs-up or two. I'll be featuring it on my show. Nice Work, Bro. Hodapp!

  2. Thanks, Eric. I got home about 1 AM, and in spite of one of the scariest wind gust-filled drives I've ever made to Chicago in a top-heavy van, I had a terrific evening. It was great to meet so many brethren. And a nice surprise to meet up with you there.

Many thanks to the Valley for their kind invitation.

  3. If they don't, who was I talking to???!!!

(Is "Chi-town" like "Frisco" — one of those terms used to discover out of towners, because the locals wouldn't be caught dead saying it?)

  4. Hmmmm. Methinks that was a veiled barb referring to the Valley's flight from Chicago to the 'burbs. I've heard it referred to as "The Valley of Addison" by those still grieving. Addison is the location of the Medinah Shrine, where most of the Valley's regular meeting are held.

Though my involvement in the Rite has dropped off in recent years (Addison is very difficult for me on Thursday nights) I'm hoping we can move on and let the healing begin.
